Member Highlight — Shelley Horner, LMFT

Nicchi Rozsa, AMFT, Associate Marriage and Family Therapist

Nicchi Rozsa is one of the newest members of our chapter (San Fernando Valley CAMFT) so if you get a chance to meet her, please welcome her to our warm, supportive organization! Nicchi is an Associate Marriage Family Therapist who graduated from Antioch with a Master of Arts degree in Depth Psychology and Spirituality. As part of her training, she had the amazing opportunity to live in Japan for a month practicing Zen mindfulness meditation with a monk. Her in-depth experience enhanced her knowledge and ability to be a therapist that is fully present in the room. Nicchi has completed almost half her hours toward licensure. She is interested in a paid associateship position to complete her hours.

Currently, Nicchi is seeing children, adults, and couples at the Center for Individual and Family Counseling in Valley Village. The therapy approaches are perfect for Nicchi since the director has a Jungian approach and her supervisor comes from a Family Systems background. The clients are often low income and may have addiction or domestic violence issues. Nicchi also works with clients who have Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. She enjoys helping clients through art therapy, journaling, mindfulness, and guided meditation. Nicchi states, “I feel normal in the world of Depth Psychology.” She likes Carolyn Myss’ Archetype work to help clients find archetypal patterns to determine the potential for transformation and empowerment. Not surprisingly, Nicchi hopes to study for a Ph.D. at Pacifica Graduate Institute someday.

In the meantime, Nicchi also helps children at the Early Childhood Development Association, (ECDA), in West Hollywood. She is studying infants and toddlers with Marilee Hartley, RN, LMFT, the founder and director of ECDA. Nicchi also shadows a second grader at his school. She enjoys working with the young children. ECDA has mindful parenting groups for parents as well as social skills groups for young children.

Nicchi is new to the field and wants to find out what she likes. Growing and learning as an associate is thrilling and Nicchi has the determination to do so with strength and grace!

To contact Nicchi, you can call her at 310.801.3199 or email her at Nicchi.rozsa@yahoo.com.

Shelley Horner, LMFT enjoys writing the our Member Profile section since she likes getting to know her colleagues in depth. She is an actress, speaker and therapist.

Shelley has had a private practice for more than twenty years. She assists adults, children, and teens as well as facilitates parent groups in her office in Calabasas. She also does consultation and training of employees through Employee Assistance Programs at various organizations and colleges.
