Sandy Sayah-Pedram, LMFT 2022 Scholarship Recipient Sandy Sayah-Pedram is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Licensed Attorney, and Writer who earned her M.A. in Counseling from Pepperdine Graduate School of Education and Psychology. She earned her credentials counseling severely emotionally disturbed children through San Fernando Valley Community Mental Health Center as well as through the Latino Family and Narrative Therapy Programs at Phillips Graduate University. In 2015, Sandy was awarded a Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health Stipend and has been published in CAMFT’s The Therapist. Sandy has been in private practice since 2018 where she works with Couples in all stages of relationship conflict, pre-marital, discernment, and divorce mediation, building upon her legal experience as a family law attorney. In addition to her focus on Couples, Sandy also works with families and individuals in the midst of crisis and transition, with her practice concentrated on trauma/complex PTSD, shame, creativity, cultural and identity issues, and the empowerment of others. Sandy has multiple levels of experiential/humanistic training directly by Les Greenberg in Emotionally Focused Therapy, which she blends with her foundation in family systems, psychodynamic, narrative, and cognitive modalities. In addition to private practice, Sandy has been teaching Theories of Counseling and Psychotherapy and Law & Ethics for Mental Health Professionals for Pepperdine’s Graduate School of Education and Psychology since 2019. In the personal sphere, Sandy is a proud mother, animal lover, and long distance runner, with an avid appreciation for the outdoors and for cultural diversity.
