Past President — Barbara Calvi, MS, LMFT

Support the CAMFT PAC

If you have attended a meeting recently, you have heard either Ariel Cohen, Barbara Calvi, or Curt Widhalm talk about the CAMFT PAC and the endless lobbying done on the behalf of Marriage and Family Therapists that it funds. Without the lobbying arm of CAMFT, LMFTs would not have made as many gains as they have. And, as we all know, the fight continues. We have outlined in recent articles and in recent meetings specifics that the PAC has fought for in the past and present. The fight is far from over!

Every year at the Legislative Update General Meeting (Coming up this year on September 23rd) after our Executive Director does the "State of the Profession" update, we pass around the hat to raise funds for the CAMFT PAC. This is a reminder to everyone to bring their checkbooks or cash, so we can continue to support this work.

Traditionally, we have had a friendly competition with the Orange County Chapter about who donates the most. In recent years, (except 2017) we have won by a good amount. Let's not let them win this year! Please consider the benefits you now derive because of the tireless fight of the CAMFT PAC.

Barbara Calvi, MS, LMFT specializes in working with couples from an attachment based developmental model. Her favorite areas are working with infidelity, couples struggling with a special needs child, and couples whose marriage has lost its vitality and passion. She helps couples who have lost their way to recapture the love, rekindle the passion, and flourish together. Whether they are experiencing great conflict, disconnection, or are struggling with a crisis, Barbara helps them repair the damage and build the relationship they long for. She is also currently about to finish a three year training program in SE (Somatic Experiencing) an attachment-based, somatic approach to resolving trauma developed by trauma expert Peter Levine, PhD.
