"Unprofessional Conduct and Trouble Spots for Psychotherapists"
This workshop will review the 4 fundamentals of the psychotherapy profession and the areas of law that allow the BBS to revoke or suspend a license or intern registration.
This course is intended for beginning to advanced therapists.
Learning Objectives
In successfully completing and attending this presentation,
participants will be able to:
1. Identify the 4 fundamentals of practicing legally, ethically, safely and confidently.
2. Describe the concept of unprofessional conduct.
3. Describe the BBS's administrative law process.
Dave Jensen, JD has been a Staff Attorney with CAMFT since April 2002. He was born in Flint, Michigan, "Go Tigers!," but was raised in Tustin, California. Dave graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor's Degree in History, and he received his law degree from the Thomas Jefferson School of Law in San Diego, California. Thereafter, Dave passed the California bar examination in February 1999, and he did it on his first try! In 2016, Dave was awarded a Master of Liberal Studies degree (English concentration) from Fort Hays State University in Hays, Kansas. As an attorney with CAMFT, Dave consults with its members regarding their legal and ethical dilemmas and obligations, and he is a regular contributor to The Therapist magazine. Dave gives numerous law and ethics presentations to chapters, schools, and agencies, with 8 rotating topics.

Course meets the qualifications for 6 hours of continuing education credit for LMFTs, LCSWs, LPCCs, and/or LEPs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.
CEU completion certificates will be awarded after participants complete the course evaluation at 4pm.

Refund Policy
Requests for refunds must be in writing and received by SFV-CAMFT before one week prior to the event. A $2 administrative fee will be deducted for cancellation of a paid event, through the cancellation deadline. There will be no refunds on requests received after one week prior to the event.
