Supervisors Special Interest Group
A quarterly lunch discussion for supervisors and
anyone interested in supervision:
FREE and for licensed members of SFV-CAMFT.

Friday, August 24, 2018

"Person-of-the-Therapist: Part 2"
led by co-chairs Mim Collins and Helen Meek

Our Supervisors SIG is a quarterly lunch discussion for supervisors and individuals interested in supervision. Bring a sack lunch and earn Supervision CEUs in the relaxing company of your peers! Each meeting we read and discuss a journal article regarding the supervision process.

In our last group, we read about and discussed the Person-of-the-Therapist model. A key underlying assumption of this model proposes that therapists' core issues (referred to as "signature themes") are potent resources that can be taped into to connect, assess and intervene effectively with clients. In this month's group, we will continue the discussion by taking a look at common signature themes among therapists-in-training, and how we as supervisors can acknowledge and support the process of our supervisees.
