Supervisors considering hiring an associate must navigate a host of labor and regulatory laws that often go behind their desire to mentor future professionals. This workshop covers the employment regulations for new and existing small employers, navigating the dual roles of employer and mentor, and providing structure for supervision.
Learning Objectives -
In successfully completing and attending this presentation, participants will be able to:

Identify the four necessary employment forms required by the IRS and EDD to be completed for new employees.

Compute three wage and compensation rate possibilities for employees for each payroll period.

Critique four components of a supervisory informed consent document.

Identify three advertising requirements of pre-licensees in private practice.

Interpret four ethical principles for supervisory relationships.
About the Presenter:
Curt Widhalm, LMFT is in private practice in West LA & Encino where he works with adolescents and is certified in EMDR. He is the Chief Financial Officer on the CAMFT Board of Directors, is the co-host of The Modern Therapist's Survival Guide podcast, and co-founder of the Therapy Reimagined Conference. Curt is a former California Board of Behavioral Science Subject Matter Expert and is an adjunct professor at Pepperdine University.
