"Working with Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID)"

In this workshop, Cristina Mardirossian, LMFT will address current theories of Complex-PTSD and dissociation, including case conceptualization, treatment planning and phase-orientated therapy. Attendees will have the understanding of how to recognize signs of complex trauma and dissociation. Plus, have the tools to assess for dissociative disorders and how to structure therapy to be effective for their client.
The information presented is based on The International Society for the Study of Dissociation (ISSTD) Guidelines for Treating Dissociative Identity Disorders.
This workshop is geared towards mental health professionals who are interested in developing their skills in treating clients with chronic trauma related dissociative disorders.
Learning Objectives
In successfully completing and attending this presentation, participants will be able to:
- Describe what is dissociation.
- Identify at least 2 symptoms of dissociation.
- Identify at least 2 alter systems in DID.
- Identify at least 2 treatment strategies when working with DID.
Presenter:
Cristina Mardirossian, MA,LMFT is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist as well as an Attachment focused EMDR Certified therapist. She is the owner and director of Pasadena Trauma Therapy, Inc. Cristina's private practice is in Pasadena, CA.
Cristina is trained in Brainspotting, The Havening Techniques, TF-CBT, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy (Level 1), Trauma Regulation Integration Processing T.R.I.P. and is certified in the Trauma Resiliency Module. Cristina also has completed the Complex Trauma Certification Training Level 1 & 2 (CCTP/CCTP-II) Course with Janina Fisher (specific training to treat Complex Trauma and Dissociative Disorders/Parts Work).
Cristina’s private practice focuses on working with trauma survivors, predominately sexual abuse survivors and dissociative disorders. Cristina runs several groups for sexual abuse survivors as well, for both men and women. Cristina is part of the Dissociative Disorders Study Group (DDSG) and is a Member of the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation (ISSTD). Cristina has provided ongoing workshops to mental health professionals on trauma and dissociation. She also provides consultation to therapists on dissociative clients.

This course is intended for beginning to advanced mental health professionals.
Course meets the qualifications for 1.5 hours of continuing education credit for LMFTs, LCSWs, LPCCs, and/or LEPs required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.
Course evaluations will be sent and CE completion certificates will be awarded to participants that attend the entire presentation and complete the course evaluation within 48 hours of the speaker presentation.

Refund Policy
Requests for refunds must be in writing and received by SFV-CAMFT before one week prior to the event. A $2 administrative fee will be deducted for cancellation of a paid event, through the cancellation deadline. There will be no changes or cancellations received after one week prior to the event (this includes No shows and arriving late to the presentation on the day of the event). The President has discretion to issue refunds that do not comply with the policy. To request a refund, email sfv.camft@gmail.com.
SFV-CAMFT is approved by the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists to sponsor continuing education for Marriage & Family Therapists. SFV-CAMFT maintains responsibility for this program/course and its content.
