"Beyond Talk Therapy: Foundations of Psychedelic-Assisted Trauma Treatment"
with Dr. Gabby Ochoa Del Gaudio, PsyD, Licensed Clinical Psychologist
This workshop provides clinicians with an introductory, foundational overview of Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) through a trauma-informed, somatic, and ethical lens. Designed for providers who are new to KAP, the training reviews ketamine’s basic neurobiological mechanisms, its emerging evidence base for depression, PTSD, and suicidality, and the role of the nervous system in trauma healing.
Participants will be introduced to the core components of KAP, including preparation, dosing session structure, therapeutic presence, somatic grounding and stabilization techniques, trauma-sensitive guidance, and early integration principles. The course also highlights essential safety protocols, contraindications, ethical considerations, and the importance of collaborative care with medical prescribers.
By the end of this 90-minute training, clinicians will have a clear and accessible
framework for understanding when and how KAP may be appropriately incorporated into trauma-informed mental health treatment. This workshop equips providers to support clients in accessing expanded states of awareness, emotional release, nervous system repair, and pathways toward post-traumatic growth.
