A committee comprised of the Vice President of Programs and one to two members chosen by the Diversity Committee, and one to two other chapter members (including Board Members), who are not submitting applications to be a presenter at Membership Meetings, will be formed.
The Vice President of Programs will serve as chair for the member speaker selection committee, and will provide committee members with a list of the previous two years presenters and topics with the goal of increasing diversity in presenters and presentations. The Vice President of Programs will submit to the chapter President, Past President, and President Elect a complete list of committee members, and the list of chapter members submitting an application to present and their topic. After the committee has made a final decision on presenters and topics the Vice President of Programs will inform the board of directors prior to announcement to the chapter membership.
At the committee’s discretion, and to best fit member needs, up to three chapter members may be selected each calendar year to serve as the main speaker at a regular, monthly chapter meeting. Interested chapter members must adhere to the application process and will be selected by the committee.
The Committee will submit a call for proposals at least 6 (six) months in advance of the meetings.
Applicants must submit as part of their application:
Past chapter involvement, contributions to the chapter, and membership duration of the chapter are not to be criteria that factor into the decision of selecting a member as a speaker.
